KeymasterHi Alex!
Absolutely! 🙂 This is where you can find our discounts for Hacienda Guachipelin’s one-day adventure pass:

Student discount

KeymasterHi Erika!
Thanks so much for checking in. The reason why the site won’t allow you to request a discount until the 24th at the earliest is because we require a minimum of 10 days’ notice for all discount orders. Since your requested date of the 19th falls within the next 10 days, unfortunately we won’t be able to provide a discount for the tour. 🙁 Of course, if there are other tour discounts that you would like to access for dates on or later than the 24th, don’t hesitate to let us know!

KeymasterHello Jonathan!
That’s correct! Sorry for any confusion there. It is possible to get picked up and dropped off in the Turrialba area (depending on the hotel you plan to stay at) with the Pacuare River Rafting Tour. Depending on where you plan to stay, breakfast may not be included with the tour; you may be taken straight to the river, as opposed to the Exploration Center (where breakfast is served), but I can confirm this if you provide the name of your Turrialba-area hotel. 🙂

KeymasterHey Alex!
No need to apologize! I’m happy to answer your question for you. 🙂
1. For an explanation of our operation, please see our How Pura Vida! eh? Works page.
2. Re: Student discounts. This depends on the age of your sons, and the student policy of the tour operator who runs the tour you’re interested in experiencing. Since you mentioned you’re interested in Hacienda Guachipelin’s one-day adventure tour, Hacienda Guachipelin’s policy outlines that the student rate for their tours applies to individuals between the ages of 13 and 17 years. In this case, since your boys are 21 and 23 years old, they would not qualify for the student discount for Hacienda Guachipelin’s tour. Instead, they would qualify for the adult discount for Hacienda Guachipelin’s tour.
3. Yes, you must be a member of Pura Vida! eh? in order to access a Pura Vida! eh? discount. Information about how to join (and pricing, which depends on the number of tour discounts you wish to access and the number of people in your travel group) can be found on our Join Us page.

KeymasterHey Jessica!
Unfortunately, the rafting tour operator doesn’t provide complimentary transportation to/from Airbnbs in Curridabat, on the eastern edge of San Jose. The closest places to Curridabat where they can provide complimentary transportation are Plaza del Sol or the Hyatt Place. Both sit along Highway 2.

October 20, 2022 at 10:43 am in reply to: Is diyCostarica membership separate from the puravidaeh membership? #106309,Nikki
KeymasterHi Susan!
Yes! The two accounts are separate; each one is tied to a separate website/initiative of ours.
A DIY Costa Rica account provides access to all of the protected content on our DIY Costa Rica website (https://www.diycostarica.com), including our Costa Rica Destination Tool, our Costa Rica Recommendations Map, and all of our private Costa Rica recommendations.
In contrast, a Pura Vida! eh? account provides access to the checkout page on our Pura Vida! eh? website (https://puravidaeh.ca), where you can submit an order for discounts.
If you’re planning your trip, a DIY Costa Rica account can help with that. If all you want is access to our tour discounts, a Pura Vida! eh? account will provide that. Most travelers opt to get both accounts, because they want to access our recommendations and our discounts, but it’s perfectly fine to have one account without the other.
If you’re not able to log in to Pura Vida! eh? (i.e., if you aren’t able to access the checkout page), especially if you’re trying to enter credentials (i.e., the username and password) that are associated with a DIY Costa Rica account, the problem is likely that you’re not yet a Pura Vida! eh? member. If this is the case, you can quickly become a Pura Vida! eh? member here. (Please keep an eye on your junk mail folder and trash bin following payment through PayPal because the account registration email may end up there.) Once you’ve registered your Pura Vida! eh? account, you’ll be able to log in, access the checkout page, and submit an order for discounts.

KeymasterHi again Jesse! 🙂
We can offer lots of availability for tours, but some partners require more advance notice than others, which is why our minimum 10-day notice requirement is in effect. There are a few cases where we can accept orders within the 10-day window, though, but it depends on the exact tour(s) you’re interested in and the date(s) you’d like to experience it/them. If you can report back to me with this information, I can let you know whether our tour discount(s) can be provided for your upcoming trip.
Until soon!

KeymasterHey guys!
Thanks so much for reaching out, and congrats on the upcoming 10-year anniversary! 🙂
The reason why the website isn’t allowing you to request a discount for next week is that there’s a minimum 10-day advance notice requirement (i.e., the website won’t allow visitors to select a date that’s within the next 10 days). Just to confirm, which exact rafting trip are you interested in experiencing this time around? We may be able to provide a discount for it within the 10-day window.
Until soon!

KeymasterHey Jamie!

KeymasterHey Dahlia!
Thank you so much for your interest! Unfortunately, due to tour operator policies and demand for our discounts, we aren’t able to process last-minute discount requests. 🙁 Of course, if there are other discounts you’d like to access for tours that you plan to experience later on during your trip, don’t hesitate to let us know!

KeymasterHi Peter!
Thanks so much for your interest! We’re currently in the process of adding new discounts to our website for tours run to/from Guanacaste, which can be arranged to include transport to/from the RIU Palace (assuming that’s where you decided to stay). For now, would you mind taking a look at our Other Costa Rica Discounts page, specifically the section titled “Additional discounts for Playas del Coco tours,” and let me know if any of the activities listed there interest you?
Until soon! 🙂

KeymasterHey Karen!
Quick question: How many people are in your travel group? Some tour operators will offer day trips to destinations with hot springs (such as La Fortuna or Rincon de la Vieja) from beach towns in Guanacaste, but a minimum number of people is required in order for those trips to run.
Until soon! 🙂

KeymasterHey Aideen!
This is a great question! Pre-Covid, that would have been possible, but nowadays, advance reservations accompanied by prepayments are required. Unfortunately, this means that it isn’t possible to pay cash upon arrival at the hanging bridges park. 🙁

KeymasterHi Kaitlin!
Thanks so much for checking in, and for your patience! To confirm, any orders placed through our website today and onward will be processed right away, as per normal, so feel free to submit your order whenever you like. 🙂

KeymasterHi Jennifer!
Yes, and yes! Casa 69 qualifies for the tour operator’s complimentary transportation service. In addition, it’s possible to get dropped off at a Puerto Viejo hotel for free after the tour, provided the tour operator is informed of this in advance.
