KeymasterHi Camille!
Thanks so much for reaching out and letting us know! 🙂
One quick question: I checked our records of Pura Vida! eh? payments and cannot see yours there. I can see your payment in our records of DIY Costa Rica payments, though. This means that you purchased a membership to DIY Costa Rica, our sister site, and not Pura Vida! eh? Inc. (this site).
To confirm, the two projects (Pura Vida! eh? and DIY Costa Rica) are separate; each one is tied to a separate website/initiative of ours.
A DIY Costa Rica account provides access to all of the protected content on our DIY Costa Rica website (https://www.diycostarica.com), including our Costa Rica Destination Tool, our Costa Rica Recommendations Map, and all of our private Costa Rica recommendations.
A Pura Vida! eh? account provides access to the checkout page on our Pura Vida! eh? website (https://puravidaeh.ca), where you can submit an order for discounts.
If you meant to purchase a membership for DIY Costa Rica, which is what you have done, I can send you a new DIY Costa Rica account registration link (because you mentioned you didn’t receive the auto-sent one) so you can begin accessing that site asap! 🙂
If you meant to purchase a membership for Pura Vida! eh? Inc. instead, I can refund your purchase for DIY Costa Rica so you can purchase a membership for Pura Vida! eh? Inc.
Either way, I can certainly help, I’m just not sure which solution is best to provide because I’m not sure which account you’d prefer. Of course, if you’d prefer to have both accounts, I can send you a new registration link for DIY Costa Rica, and you can purchase an account for Pura Vida! eh? Inc. so you can have access to the benefits provided by both sites/projects.

KeymasterHi Jodi!
Thanks so much for your interest in our discounts! 🙂
One quick question: I checked our records of Pura Vida! eh? accounts and cannot see your name listed. I can see your name listed in our records of DIY Costa Rica accounts, though. Are you currently a Pura Vida! eh? member too?
To confirm, the two accounts (Pura Vida! eh? and DIY Costa Rica) are separate; each one is tied to a separate website/initiative of ours.

If you’re not able to log in to Pura Vida! eh? (i.e., if you aren’t able to access the checkout page), especially if you’re trying to enter credentials (i.e., the username and password) that are associated with a DIY Costa Rica account, the problem is likely that you’re not yet a Pura Vida! eh? member. If this is the case, you can quickly become a Pura Vida! eh? member here. (Please keep an eye on your junk mail folder and trash bin following payment through PayPal because the account registration email may end up there.) Once you’ve registered your Pura Vida! eh? account, you’ll be able to log in, access the checkout page, and submit an order for discounts.

KeymasterHello Yamini!
Thank you so much for your interest in our discounts. Also, happy new year! 🙂
For tour availability, the tour operators aren’t able to confirm this until after an order has officially been placed (only because availability can change at any moment, so if they were to say there’s availability now, that could change five minutes from now). That being said, I don’t anticipate there being a problem with either of the tours you’re looking at; they regularly accommodate solo travelers.
Also, to confirm, you’ll only ever pay for the discounts you use, so if for some reason the tour operators cannot offer the tours to you as a solo traveler (or for any other reason), we’ll happily refund your membership payment. 🙂

KeymasterHi Shannon!
Thanks so much for your interest in our discounts! 🙂
At this time of year, we’re currently negotiating discounts for the new year, so things are a bit up in the air still. Here’s my best guess on everything at this point!
We anticipate having discounts shortly for the Tenorio River Rafting Tour and Tenorio River Safari Float Tour to/from Playa Hermosa.
We anticipate not having discounts for the Rio Celeste Tour to/from Playa Hermosa (although we do have discounts for the regular Rio Celeste Tour taken to/from La Fortuna).
We are leaning toward not offering the discount for the passes at Vandara Hot Springs & Adventures that include transportation to/from Playa Hermosa. We do have discounts for passes at Vandara Hot Springs & Adventures that do not include transportation to/from Playa Hermosa, however, so if you’ll have a rental car and don’t mind driving yourselves to/from Vandara, we can provide you with discounts for the visit. You can learn more about those discounts, which are already available on our site, here:

KeymasterHi Julia!
Thanks so much for checking in about this! All tour-related money is paid directly to the tour operator, not to us. (We simply provide the discount; the tour operator handles the payment.) Our website’s checkout system isn’t designed to accept payment information like credit card information (we don’t require this information, so to protect travelers’ privacy, we never ask for it), so you won’t enter this information during the checkout step. All the checkout step does is submit an order for discounts to us via our website. After a) the order comes in, b) the information gets forwarded to the tour operator, c) the tour operator creates a booking in their own system, and d) the tour operator confirms that they’re holding the tour spaces for you, you’ll receive payment instructions that outline how to pay the tour operator directly for the tour. (Most tour operators collect payment online.) For more information about the process, you may find the step-by-step breakdown of our operation described on our How Pura Vida! eh? Works page to be helpful. 🙂

KeymasterHi Simone!
Thank you so much for your interest in our discounts! 🙂
Unfortunately, as noted at the top of our website, a minimum of 10 days’ notice is required for all discount orders, so it won’t be possible to obtain a last-minute discount for the Sky Trek canopy tour. 🙁 Of course, if there are other tour discounts that you would like to access for dates on or later than the first week of January (assuming you’ll still be traveling then), don’t hesitate to let us know!

KeymasterHi Julia!
My apologies for the delay in getting back to you! We’re currently in the middle of the busiest two weeks of the year for Costa Rica travel, so our response time is slower than usual. Thank you so much for your patience with us! 🙂
Congrats on selecting Costa Rica for your upcoming honeymoon! I’m happy to answer your questions for you.
When you place an order through our website, the information you provide gets forwarded to the tour operator so they can create a reservation for you. Even though it’s the tour operator, not us, that officially creates the reservation in their own booking system, it’s important that the information you supply with the discount order placed through our website be the same information that you want for your reservation because that’s the information that the tour operator will use to create their booking. The reservation itself is no different than a reservation that you would make directly through the tour operator; the only difference is, by placing the order for a discount through our website, when the reservation-related information gets forwarded to the tour operator, the tour operator will create a reservation in their system for the discounted amount as opposed to the original amount.
Also to confirm, since tour operators create bookings in their own systems after they receive orders from our website, there’s no need for you to book directly through their websites. (Doing do would create a duplicate reservation.) The bookings that the tour operators create are official bookings and come with confirmation documents (we call them “discount vouchers”).

Unfortunately, as noted at the top of our website, a minimum of 10 days’ notice is required for all discount orders, so it won’t be possible to obtain a last-minute discount for the hot springs. 🙁 Of course, if there are other tour discounts that you would like to access for dates on or later than the first week of January (assuming you’ll still be traveling then), don’t hesitate to let us know!

KeymasterHi Ehtisham!
Thanks so much for your interest and for reaching out! I’m happy to answer your question for you. 🙂
The Springs Resort does not offer complimentary transportation with their Club Rio Multi-Adventure Package. (If you’ve spotted an offer online that includes transportation in the cost, it’s likely being offered by a different tour operator who has opted to add transportation to the package.) This being said, the Springs Resort can arrange custom transportation to/from their property and area hotels if/when travelers want it. Prices vary by establishment and the number of travelers in the group, but run around $28 plus tax per way, usually for groups of 1-4 people.
We don’t usually recommend that travelers go with a Club Rio Multi-Adventure Package that includes transportation–especially if the transportation service comes at a higher cost–because there isn’t much of an advantage to doing so. (The cost of transportation through the resort is comparable to taking a taxi between La Fortuna hotels and the resort: roughly $25-30 per way.) Plus, we like giving travelers the option to decide for themselves when they want to visit the resort and when they want to leave. 🙂

KeymasterHi Bucky!
Thank you so much for your quick response! 🙂
Unfortunately, Chachagua-area accommodations aren’t considered by tour operators to be “La Fortuna accommodations” and therefore don’t qualify for complimentary transportation to/from tours. An exception to this rule that we sometimes see is when tours take place south of La Fortuna, in or beyond the Chachagua area. In these cases, complimentary transportation can sometimes be arranged if the accommodation falls along the route taken to reach the start/end point of the tour. EcoTermales, however, sits on an opposite side of La Fortuna (on the northwestern outskirts of town), so tour operators won’t provide transportation there from Chachagua for free. It can be arranged at an extra cost through the tour operator, though, if you’d like. Usually tour operators charge around $30 (for the two of you, not per person) for the service per way, so I’d budget around $60 for round-trip transportation to/from EcoTermales. This cost is likely similar to taking a taxi, so if you’d prefer to set your own pick-up and drop-off times (as opposed to scheduled pick-up and drop-off times arranged through the tour operator), you could plan to use taxi transportation to/from Chachagua and the hot springs instead.

KeymasterGood morning, Bucky!
Thanks so much for your inquiry! I don’t see a La Fortuna hotel name noted. Which La Fortuna hotel do you plan to stay at, and for which tour/activity are you inquiring about a pick-up?
Until soon! 🙂

KeymasterHi again Sam!
I just saw your follow-up response after writing my response to your initial question. 🙂
I’m glad everything is clear now. Let me know if you need clarification on anything else!

KeymasterHey Sam!
Thanks so much for your interest! I’m happy to help. 🙂
Would it be possible for you to send me links to the pages on our website where you saw the deals you’re referring to? I’m always possible that there could be a website glitch, but that’s unlikely. Knowing which pages you’re looking at will help me better understand what you’ve found, so I can explain what it’s exact use is.
To confirm, all of our discounts that are currently in stock on our website are accessible to Pura Vida! eh? members only, so none are free to non-members. The only place where you should see “FREE” on our website is with respect to discounts that are for free children. Sometimes it’s the case that tour operators allow children younger than a certain age to participate in tours for free (with paying adults), so I’m wondering if perhaps you’ve encountered one of our FREE CHILD discounts. You’ll know you have if you see the words “free child” in the page’s title and url (website address).
With respect to the Springs Resort hot springs pass, here are links to our discounts for that:
Children (3-11): https://puravidaeh.ca/discounts/springs-resort-hot-springs-pass-with-meal-plus-extra-free-day-child-from-la-fortuna-operated-by-springs-resort/
Free Children (ages 0-2): https://puravidaeh.ca/discounts/springs-resort-hot-springs-pass-with-meal-plus-extra-free-day-free-child-from-la-fortuna-operated-by-springs-resort/
As for which membership level you’ll need to access the discount(s), I can confirm this with you too, but I’ll just need to know how many people are wanting to visit the hot springs, including any children/free children in your travel group.
Until soon! 🙂

KeymasterHi Elaine!
Thank you so much for your interest in our discounts!
Unfortunately, a minimum of 10 days’ notice is required for all discount orders, so it won’t be possible to obtain a discount for use this weekend. 🙁 Of course, if there are other tour discounts that you would like to access for dates on or later than the 25th (10 days from now, assuming you’ll still be traveling then), don’t hesitate to let us know!
