We believe that prosperity is a state of mind and has little to do with one’s bank account.
Since 2010, our Reach Out Costa Rica Travel Philanthropy Project has helped connect mentally prosperous travelers with individuals in need through the very simple concept of giving back. Specifically, the project encourages travelers to put their Costa Rica vacations to good use by choosing to purchase or reserve particular items through our business, Pura Vida! eh? Inc., so we can donate money or supplies/gear to others.
In past years, we automatically donated a portion of our commission-based income to several worthy initiatives, including all of the following:
- Kids Saving The Rainforest (Costa Rica: Monkey Rehabilitation & Rainforest Reforestation)
- Save The Turtles (Costa Rica: Sea Turtle Conservation)
- Escuela de Futbol Tres Equis (Costa Rica: Youth Soccer Shoe Donation Program)
- Reach Out WorldWide (International: Worldwide Disaster Relief Effort & Support)
- The Paul Walker Foundation (International: Ocean/Wildlife Protection and Empowerment Via Goodwill)
- PETA (International: People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals)
- The Canadian Cancer Society
- The Kidney Foundation of Canada
- The Canadian Diabetes Association
- The CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind)
- The Multiple Sclerosis Society (Canada)
- Habitat for Humanity (Costa Rica)
- Burma Campaign – Partners Relief & Development
- Red Cross (Various Relief Efforts)

- W.A.V.E. (Women Against Violence Everywhere)
We were also a “Green Alliance Member” with Save The Turtles and a “Change Maker” with PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).
In recent years, when we altered our business operations to no longer follow a commission-based model, we also changed the operation of our Reach Out Costa Rica Travel Philanthropy Project. Now, the project is funded by the sale of Costa Rica souvenirs, namely customizable Costa Rica memory bracelets, which are available for purchase on our new Etsy stop. 100% of those purchase proceeds support the project, specifically youth fútbol initiatives.
