        Hello!

I’ll be staying at the Heliconias Nature Lodge outside of La Fortuna in the beginning of December. I’m interested in the Lost Canyon Canyoning Tour that you have a discount for on your site. How much would the fee be for transportation?

I’m also interested in a private ATV tour, we found the company Power Wheels Adventures. Would you happen to have a discount with that company as well?

        Thank you!

          Hi Amanda!

Thanks so much for checking in! 🙂

We don’t currently offer ATV tours in La Fortuna (we do offer ATV tours in the Manuel Antonio area, however, in case that’s an option for you), so unfortunately we cannot offer a discount for Power Wheels Adventures.

For the Lost Canyon tour, we can certainly help here! Though the tour operator (Desafio Adventure Company) includes complimentary transportation to/from La Fortuna hotels, for transportation to/from Chachagua-area hotels (including the Heliconias Nature Lodge), they charge a round-trip transportation cost of $30. To confirm, the $30 isn’t charged per person, it’s charged per small group. So, if you’re only traveling with a few people, the small group will only pay the $30 fee once (you can then split the cost among yourselves if you wish). For example, if there are 2 people in your travel group, the total cost of the reservation would be $194: each person will pay the tour operator our discounted rate of $82 per person (original tour price $99 per person) and the $30 fee will be added on top. If you’re traveling with more than a few people, feel free to let us know how many people will be doing the tour, and I can let you know how much the transportation charge will be for the bigger group. 🙂

For easy reference, more information about our discount for Desafio Adventure Company’s canyoning tour can be found here: https://puravidaeh.ca/discounts/lost-canyon-canyoning-tour-adult-la-fortuna-desafio-adventure-company/

          Pura vida! 🙂

            Hi Nikki,

Thanks for your response! Unfortunately we’re not able to make it to Manuel Antonio this trip. It’s been recommended to me several times, but we have other commitments this trip that make it too long of a journey to get to and from.

We’ll be renting a car and I was planning to drop off the rental car in La Fortuna before one of our tours and just having the tour operator drop us off at the hotel afterward. Do you know if a one-way transportation would be cheaper?

            Thanks,
            Amanda

              Hi Amanda!

No problem about not visiting Manuel Antonio! All the more reason to come back again in the future. 🙂 Plus, the La Fortuna/Arenal area (which you plan to visit) offers plenty of experiences, so I’m sure you’ll be able to fill your time with awesome things to do in that area of the country.

For one-way transportation, yes! This is half the cost of the round-trip service cost. Desafio Adventure Company would charge you a $15 transportation fee if you end up dropping off your rental car in La Fortuna and meeting Desafio at their office (in downtown La Fortuna) prior to the start of the tour, then using their transportation service to get dropped off at the Heliconias Nature Lodge in Chachagua after the tour.

              Pura vida! 🙂
