      Hi Debby!

Of the La Fortuna tour operators that include complimentary transportation with their tours, most consider hotels in the Zeta Trece community to be “La Fortuna accommodations” (despite them sitting on the outskirts of La Fortuna), so they qualify for the free pick-up and drop-off service. That being said, not all tour operators will provide transportation to/from Airbnbs like they will hotels. Popular Airbnbs that are easy to access by bus often qualify for complimentary transportation services but others do not. In the event that the specific Airbnb you plan to stay at doesn’t qualify, you can plan to get picked up and dropped off at the nearest qualifying property, such as Hotel Vista del Cerro, as you note. 🙂

          Hey Linda!

At the moment, we do not. We’re in the process of sorting out our discounts for the upcoming high season, though, so if you aren’t planning on traveling soon, I’d recommend revisiting our database at a later date to see if any of our new discounts are for the Jaco area.

          Pura vida! 🙂

              Hey Vivek!

Which hot spring properties have you already looked into? Are you wanting to visit the hot springs in La Fortuna only, or hot springs anywhere in CR?

              Until soon!

                  Hey Avgi!

Thank you so much for your interest in our discounts! 🙂 I would love to be able to help you out, but unfortunately, we aren’t able to accept last-minute requests. (The banner at the top of each page on our website explains that we can only process orders made a minimum of 10 days prior to a tour date due to tour operators’ policies, which is why our website won’t allow you to select a date prior to the 28th.) Even though there may still be availability for the tour (or in this case, hot springs pass) that you’re interested in, we have agreements with some of our tour operator partners that require us to provide them with a set number of days’ notice in order for them to accept our discounts, so, unfortunately, last-minute requests aren’t an option. 🙁

Don’t hesitate to let us know if there are any discounts we can provide you with for later on during your trip if you’ll be staying for more than 10 days.

Great question! For a list of tours that can be experienced as tour transportation (i.e., transportation services that provide a guided tour experience along a route), please see our related blog post:

                        Hi Jerry!

No problem at all! You’re 100% correct; the wording is a bit confusing. The issue is, all other tour operators we work with call the group of individuals between children and adults “students” while Mistico calls them “teens” or “adolescents”. In order to try to avoid confusion, we choose to use the term “students” across our website to mirror the language used by most other tour operators, but you’re right in that if you’re looking on our website at tours run by the Mistico Park, our use of the word “students” doesn’t match their use of the word “teen” or “adolescent”. To confirm, with respect to Mistico Park’s tours and the applicable discounts on our website, “student” and “teen”/”adolescent” are the same. 🙂

                            Hi Stacey!

Thanks so much for your kind comment! 🙂 I’m happy you’ve found our information to be helpful, and I’m also happy to answer your question.

We don’t have a cancelation policy of our own, we simply enforce the cancelation policies of the individual tour operators. So, the cancelation policies that will apply will depend on the exact tours you want to experience, and which tour operators run those tours.

For example, Desafio typically requires 48 hours’ notice to accept cancelations of reservations for their self-run tours (such as their canyoning tour) without penalty, so that’s the cancelation policy that would apply if you opt to use our discount for their canyoning tour. The Paradise Hot Springs tends to require at least two weeks’ notice to accept cancelations without penalty, so that would be the more worrisome cancelation policy between the two.

Note that tour operators’ policies are subject to change at any time (some tour operators enforce stricter policies during the high season, and it sounds like you plan to travel during that period), so it would be good to keep an eye on tour operators’ policies (most tour operators will post these on their website) between now and when you plan to travel, just in case they decide to make any changes.

                            Pura vida! 🙂

Thanks so much for your interest in our discounts! 🙂

Hotel Arenal Xilopalo is considered a “La Fortuna hotel” by most tour operators, so it tends to qualify for complimentary transportation. Which specific tour do you have in mind? Once I know which tour you’re considering, I can confirm whether the tour operator will charge extra to include a pick-up/drop-off service at Xilopalo.

                                Until soon!

                                  Hi Leanne!

Unfortunately, most zip-line courses in Costa Rica follow routes that connect tall trees spread out across uneven (sometimes hilly/mountainous) terrain, so it isn’t possible to follow along on the ground. Similarly, most zip-line courses explore areas deep in the forest, so it usually isn’t possible for non-participants to watch tour participants while they complete the journey. 🙁

You mentioned the tram, which is a great point. At their Arenal (La Fortuna) and Monteverde parks, Sky Adventures (a zip-line tour operator) provides the Sky Tram Aerial Tram Ride, and it can be experienced either as part of their zip-line tour, which they call the Sky Trek Canopy Tour, or on its own as an aerial tram ride only. Riding the tram would be one way to potentially share an experience with your husband and two children. The three of them could participate in the Sky Trek Canopy Tour, which automatically includes the Sky Tram Aerial Tram Ride, and you could participate in the Sky Tram Aerial Tram Ride only. Although not always guaranteed, a specific request can be made to have all four of you ride the Sky Tram together, so if that request can be accommodated, you can at least share the tram ride portion of the Sky Trek Canopy Tour together.

                                  Pura vida! 🙂
