October 25, 2021 at 9:13 pm in reply to: Transportation Times for EcoTermales Hot Springs Pickup and Dropoff #103854,
Nikki
KeymasterHey Corinne!
I’m happy to answer your question for you! 🙂
For the EcoTermales Hot Springs pass, this pass is sold for one of two blocks of time each day, and the blocks start at 10:00am and 5:00pm. You don’t need to arrive at those exact times, though, so you can certainly turn up at 11-12pm if you like. It’s worth noting that if you arrive late, that will cut into the amount of time you’ll have to enjoy the hot springs because you only have until the end of the block to be there. But if that doesn’t matter to you, and you only want to enjoy the hot springs for a short period of time, then you can go when you wish!
I should just mention that the transportation that’s included with the hot springs pass is subject to availability, so if you request a pick-up time at a custom time, such as 11:00am, and a vehicle/driver isn’t available at that time, you may need to select a different pick-up time. Unless you plan to visit at a very busy time of the year, though, vehicle/driver availability usually isn’t a problem.

KeymasterHey Brandon!
I’m so sorry our site was giving you some trouble! No problem about starting a new conversation; feel free to start as many as you need! 🙂
For timelines, unfortunately it’s too late for us to provide the discount for the Mambo Combo on Tuesday, but if the request for the Mistico Night Tour is sent to us before midnight tonight, we could make that work for Wednesday evening. We can also provide the discount for the other tour you were considering doing in Puerto Viejo next Friday, as per your other conversation about that.
For the date(s) when placing the order, you can simply choose any date that the calendar will allow you to pick, and then indicate the correct dates (one for each tour, if you decide to order both tour discounts) in the box on the checkout page where you can add special notes. Failing that, you can always post another conversation here in our forum to let us know the correct dates (unless something changes, we’ll assume it will be Wednesday, October 27th for the night tour). Either way, we’ll update the order on our end to reflect your preferred dates. 🙂
Until soon!

KeymasterHey Brandon!
Thanks so much for your interest in our discounts!
Each tour partner of ours has their own policies in regard to how much advance notice they need to receive from us. For the Mambo Combo tour, unfortunately, it’s too late for us to give you the discount for that tour for Monday, but we could make Tuesday work if you submit the official order for the discount through our website before the end of the day today (midnight). For the tour you want for next Friday, we can process that for you provided we receive the official order for it by the end of the day tomorrow (midnight) at the latest. For the night tour, I’m not sure which specific night tour you have in mind, but in most cases, it is too late to arrange this experience for Monday. We could probably make Tuesday or Wednesday evening work, though, provided we receive the official request for the tour from you by the end of the day today (midnight).

KeymasterHi Joy!
It does! Camino Verde qualifies for Selvatura’s complimentary tour pick-up and drop-off service. 🙂
As a side note, we enjoyed our stay at Camino Verde and wrote about it over on our blog here (just in case you’re interested in further reading): https://costaricatravelblog.com/monteverde-hotels-in-monteverde-costa-rica/

Thanks so much for your interest in our discounts! Fortunately, I can confirm that Arenal Manoa qualifies for Canoa Aventura’s complimentary hotel pick-up and drop-off service. 🙂

KeymasterHello clerkehome!
Great! Thank you for getting back to me in regards to which specific Selvatura tour you’re considering. In this case, I’d recommend going with one of these two tour options (Selvatura’s Treetop Walkways hanging bridges tour vs. Sky Adventures’s Sky Walk hanging bridges tour), not both, because the tours are very similar. An exception would be if you purposely want to experience the hanging bridges at both parks (the Selvatura Park and the Monteverde Sky Adventures Park), knowing that the experiences you’ll have there (hiking through the forest over a series of hanging bridges) will be similar. Also, it’s worth noting that the two parks (the Selvatura Park and the Monteverde Sky Adventures Park) are adjacent to each other, so the scenery is shared.
If you’ve decided to do one of these two tours but you’re not sure which one to choose, this related blog post of ours should help you decide: https://costaricatravelblog.com/best-hanging-bridges-costa-rica/
Specifically, it details the Selvatura Park’s bridges and the Monteverde Sky Adventures Park’s bridges (in addition to two hanging bridge parks in the La Fortuna/Arenal region). The most obvious difference between the two tours you’re looking at is that the Monteverde Sky Adventures Park is home to an aerial tram (the Sky Tram) and the Selvatura Park is not, so if you’re interested in experiencing a tram side, you’ll need to go with the Monteverde Sky Adventures Park. If the tram ride doesn’t interest you much, you can base your decision on other details covered in the blog post linked above, such as bridge quantity, bridge length, etc.

KeymasterHello clerkehome!
I can certainly help clarify things for you. To confirm, the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve Tour is a hiking tour through the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve. This protected land area doesn’t have an aerial tram, and it’s also not considered one of Monteverde’s hanging bridges parks (like the Selvatura Park or the Monteverde Sky Adventures Park), though it does have a bridge. It also has a small waterfall and a point where you can stand atop the continental divide. If you’d like, you can read more about the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve in our related blog post: https://costaricatravelblog.com/monteverde-cloud-forest-or-monteverde-cloud-forest-reserve/
In contrast, the Sky Walk Hanging Bridges and the Sky Tram Aerial Tram are both located inside the Monteverde Sky Adventures Park. This park is an adventure center (it has ziplines, hanging bridges, the aerial tram, tree-climbing, and a restaurant), unlike the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve, which is a biological reserve. You can read more about the Monteverde Sky Adventures Park in our related blog post: https://costaricatravelblog.com/sky-adventures-monteverde-park/
To answer your question, there isn’t much overlap between these two experiences, apart from the fact that you’ll hike through forested land at both. At the former, you’ll hike around a biological reserve. Early-morning bird-watching experiences are often the highlight. At the latter, you’ll likely be more active: can go zip-lining, cross a series of hanging bridges, ride an aerial tram, etc. Overall, some people visit one of these two places during their trip and others visit both, so you could do either.
Since you mentioned you’ve already picked a tour to experience at the Selvatura Park, may I ask which tour you’ve selected? I ask because the Selvatura Park and the Monteverde Sky Adventures Park are more similar than the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve and the Monteverde Sky Adventures Park, so I’d be more concerned that the tour you’ll experience at the Selvatura Park may overlap some of the experiences you’ll have at the Monteverde Sky Adventures Park, mainly the hanging bridges. Both the Selvatura Park and the Monteverde Sky Adventures Park compete as Monteverde’s best hanging bridge parks, so if you plan to experience the hanging bridges at both parks, this particular activity would overlap.

KeymasterHey Forest!
Thank you so much for your interest! Unfortunately, due to tour operator policies and demand for our discounts, we can only process orders made a minimum of 10 days prior to your desired tour date.
Thank you again, though, for considering us!

KeymasterHi Ryan!
Thanks so much for checking in. As of right now, the tour is available!
As a side note, our membership fee is 100% refundable in the event of lack of availability, so if you ever place a discount request through our website for a tour that isn’t available, we’ll simply refund your membership payment. 🙂

KeymasterHey Amanda!
Correct! We don’t have a cancelation policy of our own but we’re required to enforce the individual cancelation policies of the various tour operators we work with. So if you opted to use one of our discounts for a tour operated by Mistico Park, Mistico Park’s own cancelation policy (48 hours notice to avoid penalty, as you note) would apply.

August 20, 2021 at 12:28 pm in reply to: Pacuare River Trip Transportation with Exploradores #103523,Nikki
KeymasterHello Katherine!
Thanks so much for checking in with us about this. Of course! Exploradores Outdoors can provide complimentary transportation between San Jose and Puerto Viejo (both Puerto Viejo de Talamanca and Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui, which are located in very different areas) with their rafting tours, and that offering still applies if you choose to use our discount. 🙂 The only way complimentary transportation wouldn’t apply (according to Exploradores Outdoors’ policies, not our policies) is if you choose to stay at accommodations that lie on the outskirts of the two destinations. In this case, Exploradores Outdoors might need to charge you an additional pick-up or drop-off fee to provide transportation from your chosen accommodations. (Alternatively, in this case, you could use a taxi or your own transportation to get between your accommodation and the nearest free pick-up/drop-off spot to save the cost of the pick-up or drop-off fee.) Most hostels and hotels (not vacation rentals) in Puerto Viejo and San Jose proper qualify for the complimentary pick-up and drop-off service.

KeymasterGood morning Richard!
No problem! This quick message is simply to confirm that we processed the discount for the 23rd as opposed to the 22nd as per your request. You should have received a separate email notice from us about the discount processing, but I wanted to respond to your note above, too, so you’d know we caught your request for the date change.
Pura vida! 🙂
,Nikki
KeymasterHi Richard,
My apologies! I should have given you a heads up about that in my prior message. The website won’t allow you to select a date within the next 10 days given the 10-day minimum requirement, but you can get past this by manually typing in August 22nd as opposed to selecting August 22nd on the little calendar. Alternatively, you can select any other date (such as the 26th or a later date) and include in the notes section on the checkout page that the actual date that you’re interested in is the 22nd. We can then officially change the date to the 22nd for you on our end. 🙂
I’m assuming you’re already aware of this but in case not, the checkout page on our website is visible to members only, so if you’re already a member, you’ll need to be logged in to view the page and officially submit the order. Alternatively, if you’re not already a member, you can become one here: https://puravidaeh.ca/membership-join/
Pura vida!

KeymasterHi Richard,
No problem! Thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly. This should work! Sky Adventures is one of the faster companies we work with, so we could accept a discount request for the 22nd if you’re able to submit the request (i.e., the order) through our website within the next 24 hours or so. I’ll keep an eye open for the order submission to come through, and I’ll put a rush on processing it as soon as I spot it come in. 🙂
Until soon!
