My girlfriend and I will be in Tamarindo the first week of March. We’re trying to find a tour to Monteverde Sky Adventure for aerial tram and sky walk, but not doing zip lining. Maybe a coffee plantation or something else, too. Not finding anything. What do you suggest? Thanks.

Hello Howard!
I’m happy to help! 🙂
One quick question… are you looking for a Monteverde Sky Tram and Sky Walk Hanging Bridges Tour that includes transportation to and from Tamarindo? Or will you have your own transportation (i.e, a rental vehicle) and are able to drive yourselves to and from Monteverde, you’re simply in search of a Monteverde tour that combines the Sky Tram and Sky Walk Hanging Bridges without the Sky Trek Canopy Tour?
If it’s the latter, you’re in luck! We offer discounts for the Monteverde Sky Tram and Sky Walk Hanging Bridges Tour, which doesn’t include the Sky Trek Canopy Tour. You can find more information about that tour (and our discount for it) here: https://puravidaeh.ca/discounts/sky-walk-hanging-bridges-tour-sky-tram-aerial-tram-ride-adult-monteverde-sky-adventures/
If it’s the former, unfortunately Sky Adventures does not provide transportation to/from Tamarindo given its distance from Monteverde (it’s about a 3.5-hour drive between the two destinations). This being said, you can arrange your own transportation to and from Monteverde if you wish. Private transfer service drivers can be hired to pick you up in Tamarindo at the time of your choosing, bring you to Monteverde, wait while you participate in the Sky Tram and Sky Walk Hanging Bridges Tour, then take you back to Tamarindo again. It will be a long and rather expensive day, but it’s definitely possible!
Alternatively, if you’re open to missing a night in Tamarindo, you can take a shared shuttle service from Tamarindo to Monteverde one morning, participate in the afternoon Sky Tram and Sky Walk Hanging Bridges Tour, spend a night in Monteverde, participate in another Monteverde-area activity (such as a coffee tour or a cloud forest tour–whatever interests you) the next morning, then catch an afternoon shuttle out of Monteverde back to Tamarindo. You could also swap the order of activities, so you participate in the Sky Tram and Sky Walk Hanging Bridges during the morning and another activity (such as a coffee tour) during the afternoon on the day you arrive. Both options would give you more time to spend in Monteverde (plus, shared shuttle services cost less than private transfer services), but they’ll also require a 1-night stay away from Tamarindo.

Thanks, Nikki. Unfortunately, we don’t have enough time this trip to spend a night in Monteverde area. We know it would be a very long trip for only a few hours at Monteverde, so we’re hoping the time seeing the cloud forest would be worth the effort, time, and expense. We only have 6 days in Costa Rica.

Hello Howard!
No problem! All the more reason to plan a return trip one day in the future. 😉
In this case, I believe your best bet would be to arrange private, round-trip transportation between Tamarindo and Monteverde. I’m not familiar with a 1-day tour that departs from and returns to Tamarindo and specifically includes the Monteverde Sky Tram and Sky Walk Hanging Bridges Tour.
Of course, should you go ahead with this plan (i.e., to book private transportation, or any other another form of transportation, between Tamarindo and Monteverde), don’t hesitate to submit the order for the Sky Tram and Sky Walk Hanging Bridges Tour (https://puravidaeh.ca/discounts/sky-walk-hanging-bridges-tour-sky-tram-aerial-tram-ride-adult-monteverde-sky-adventures/) through our website so we can make sure you obtain the tour experience at our discounted rate.
Pura vida! 🙂
