Hello and thanks for a great webinar on Costa Rica …. as we are planning our trip for next February and this now has us even more excited than ever …

My question for now is if I could receive 2-3 places you would recommend to stay in the following places … looking for quaint places with some atmosphere and yet affordable …and maybe one a bit more expensive in each of these places … this would be very helpful …

Arenal … Tabacon Thermal Springs … did see the Resort and Spa but a bit pricey ,,, probably would need 2 nites…so is there are some other spa type places that would make for a great relaxing spa type experience?
Monteverde – probably one nite … I wrote down the Monteverde Villa Lodge …. was that where Playa Hermosa is – CoCo beach?? ….are there 2 others that you would recommend??
Playa Hermosa … is that in Monteverde and heard that is a nice place…??
La Fortuna – is that near Arenal? … where would you suggest staying?
Tamarindo – mentioned rental homes just outside…as we will have a car… any particular ones that you would recommend?
Nicoya Peninsula – Nosara …. suggestions?
Santa Teresa (Malpais) – you had mentioned Playa Tropical … is there a place to stay there or are they 2 different places requiring 2 different places to stay? Are you aware of something called Cabinas??
Manuel Antonio – did you recommend staying in the national park?
Corcovado – sounds like a great place ,,,,
Our plan is to fly into San Jose and the go north to Arenal and work our way down the Pacific Coast possibly ending up around Santa Teresa …and then ferry over to a Marriott resort at Los Suenas … and plan to spend a week there possibly and more if that makes sense …. but it seems like we need more of our time on the first part of the trip before settling in around the resort .. How many days would you recommend for the first part of our adventure before heading to Los Suenas… is this about a 7 – 10 day adventure just working our way down the west coast as you seem to be recommending?

          Hi Dave!

First and foremost, thank you so much for watching the show! It was a lot of fun presenting live for Rick Steves’ Monday Night Travel program, and I’m so glad to hear that you enjoyed watching it.

I am happy to answer your questions for you, but I have a quick favor to ask:

I noticed that you are a member of our DIY Costa Rica website. Would you mind re-posting your question above on our Q&A Forum over on that website? (You can find the forum here: https://www.diycostarica.com/diy-costa-rica-forum/). On that private forum, we can answer all kinds of general Costa Rica travel questions. This particular forum, which is public on our Pura Vida! eh? website, is specific to queries regarding orders placed through Pura Vida! eh? and/or our Pura Vida! eh? discounts.

Again, I’m happy to answer your questions for you, I just want to make sure that they get posted in a place where we’re able to respond to them. 🙂

          Thank you!
