        Hi,

I am trying to plan a honeymoon for my husband and I for 2023. We like to fish, hike, kayak and love the beach. I would love to see the sloths, hike to the waterfalls and see the natural wildlife. But, I wasnt sure the best places to stay, when is the best time to go without it raining every day, and what else we should do. I appreciate any help or advice.

        Thank you,
        Chelsea

          Hey Chelsea!

          This is a great to-do (and to-see) list! 🙂

Since you know some of the experiences you’d like to have but you don’t know where to go, I’d recommend using our Costa Rica Destination Tool, which is available on our sister site, DIY Costa Rica. The tool will help you narrow down 66 Costa Rica destinations according to nearly 150 criteria in less than 1 minute, and you can select a lot of the criteria you mentioned in your question, including your interests in kayaking, fishing, waterfalls, and visiting a beach. (We’re also currently adding wildlife-specific selection criteria, so soon you’ll also be able to narrow down destinations by sloths, monkeys, jaguars, etc.). It’s a super handy tool we spent a lot of time developing specifically to help people like you who want to match their preferences, interests, and needs to Costa Rica destinations.

In addition, since you mentioned concern about the rain, you may be interested in reading our related blog post When To Go To Costa Rica According To Cost, Weather, Wildlife, And More!. It outlines the best time of year to visit Costa Rica if good weather (or low prices or prime wildlife-viewing) is your priority.

          Pura vida! 🙂
