Thank you for your interest in this! It’s very kind of you to consider bringing items from home to donate while you’re in Costa Rica. 🙂

Normally, I’d supply you with specifics to help with the soccer shoes/equipment donation project we run, but unfortunately, this particular project is temporarily suspended due to Covid. There are other donation projects that are running, though; the organization Pack For A Purpose is one. They’re a good place to start; they work with several companies in various regions of the country so there should be at least one company near the destination(s) you plan to visit. If you click on the name of a Costa Rican business on the page, it will show you their donation “needs,” which are items they ask travelers to bring from home. These range from school and reference materials, art/music items, and toys, to first aid and personal grooming supplies. Sadly, the “needs” lists are endless.
