We are trying to decide if we want to book a day pass for The Springs Resort in August that includes dinner. We will have our 11 year old daughter with us, who is quite picky. Can you please give an idea of the kind of menu items that are included so we can decide if it is worth it for us? Thank you.

Hello Kristen!
Sure thing! I’ll start by sending you a link to an article we wrote specifically about the Springs Resort Hot Springs. It addresses information about the resort’s dinner, as well as tons of other things you may be interested in knowing: https://costaricatravelblog.com/springs-resort-hot-springs/
To paraphrase what the article says, day passes at the Springs Resort include dinner at the resort’s Tres Cascadas restaurant. The dinner may be a la carte or buffet depending on the number of people at the resort on the day of your visit. Since you plan to visit during August, which is part of the low season, and travel numbers are down in general due to the pandemic, it’s likely the dinner will be a la carte. Typically, you’ll have a few (usually five) entree options consisting of at least one meat dish, one fish dish, and one vegetarian (usually pasta) dish. The meal also includes a starter (usually soup or a salad) and a dessert (usually tres leches cake or another traditional Costa Rican dessert).
It’s worth mentioning that our discounted rate for the hot springs pass with dinner is less than $5 more per adult than the cost of the resort’s hot springs pass without dinner, so even if your daughter doesn’t eat enough of the meal to feel like you’re getting your money’s worth, going with the passes that include dinner (as opposed to purchasing dinner separately at the resort) is the cheapest option overall.
Pura vida! 🙂
