Hello Nikki,
We are a family of four (youngest is 17 yr old) visiting CR from Dec 19-25.
We will need transportation:
Dec 19: SJO to Si Como No Resort
Dec 21: Manuel Antonio to Monteverde
Dec 22: Monteverde to Arenal SPrings & Spa Resort
Dec 25: Arenal Springs & Spa Resort to SJOWhat are the rates you can offer for the above transportation requirements? We are thinking of not renting a car.
We are also looking at activities to do and thinking of following so far:
Dec 20: Manuel Antonio Rainforest hike & tour plus beach (would like to do beginner surfing lessons – suggestions?)
Dec 21: Chocolate+Coffee+trapiche tour in Quepos (then drive to Monteverde)
Dec 22: Sky trek, tram, walk in Monteverde (then drive to Arenal)
Dec 23: Volcano Hike, Rappelling, Hot Springs
Dec 24: Rafting? or something elsedo you have any suggestions for Dec 24? Also, is the chocolate tour in Quepos good or are there better ones in Monteverde or Arenal?
Thanks,
Ruma -

Also, at Monteverde we booked 1 night at Monteverde Cloud Forest Lodge – is that a good place to stay at? We plan to do the Sky Trek, Tram, Walk next day.

Hello Ruma!
Thanks so much for your forum comments and your patience with us as we were away from work for a few days last week. 🙂
Let me answer your questions about tours/activities!
For the “Manuel Antonio Rainforest Hike & Tour” you mention above, do you mean a tour of the Manuel Antonio National Park? Or a tour of a different rainforest trail? If you mean the park, this is a great idea! The park is one of the Manuel Antonio area’s best attractions. I’m not sure if you’ve chosen a Manuel Antonio Park Tour provider yet, but if not, don’t miss our discounts for the Manuel Antonio National Park Tour here: https://puravidaeh.ca/discounts/manuel-antonio-national-park-tour-adult-manuel-antonio-manuel-antonio-expeditions/
For beginner surf lessons, we like Manuel Antonio Surf School (also known as MASS). We’ve offered discounts off their surf lessons in the past, but those discounts haven’t yet been moved over to this new website from our old website, so you won’t yet be able to see them online. If you’re in a hurry to book surf lessons, feel free to book with them directly (no problem!). Otherwise, feel free to watch our website between now and when you travel as discounts for the surf lessons may be added during that time.
For the Coffee + Chocolate + Trapiche Tour in Quepos, great question! Unfortunately, we haven’t yet experienced this tour firsthand, so we can’t offer much information about it. We would normally lean towards experiencing a Coffee + Chocolate + Trapiche Tour in the Monteverde area (as opposed to the Quepos area) because Monteverde is known, in part, for its coffee. We like the Don Juan Coffee Tour (which includes chocolate and trapiche components), as well as El Trapiche Tour (which includes coffee and chocolate components)–both of which are located in Monteverde. Based on the pricing information on the website for the Coffee + Chocolate + Trapiche Tour in Quepos, I believe the tours in Monteverde are less expensive, too.
For the Sky Walk, Tram, and Trek Combo in Monteverde, we can certainly help you save money on this experience. Here’s a link to the adult discount we offer for the tour (student and child discounts are also available): https://puravidaeh.ca/discounts/sky-trek-canopy-tour-ziplining-sky-walk-hanging-bridges-tour-sky-tram-aerial-tram-ride-adult-monteverde-sky-adventures/
For your days in La Fortuna/Arenal, there is plenty for you to fill your time with on the 24th, such as a day trip to Rio Celeste, a day trip to the Venado Caves, a day trip to the Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge, or a day spent at the Springs Resort participating in on-site activities at their Club Rio Outdoor Center (see the “Club Rio Multi-Adventure Package” here https://puravidaeh.ca/discounts/club-rio-outdoor-center-multi-adventure-package-adult-from-la-fortuna-operated-by-springs-resort/ for more info). Alternatively, you can certainly go rafting, as you note. Here’s a link to the section of our discount database where we list current discounts for La Fortuna/Arenal Tours: https://puravidaeh.ca/product-category/destinations/la-fortuna-tours/
Note: We’re still in the process of moving all of our discounts from our old website over to this new website, which includes tons of additional discounts for La Fortuna/Arenal activities. If you’re interested in a La Fortuna/Arenal tour that you don’t spot a discount for on our website, feel free to let us know what you’re in search of, and we can let you know if we offer a discount for it.
Lastly, for your plan to stay at the Monteverde Cloud Forest Lodge, we haven’t stayed there personally, so we don’t know too much about it, apart from the lodge’s own advertising. I’m familiar with its location though, which is just outside of downtown Santa Elena. It’ll be about a 15-minute ride to Sky Adventures’ Monteverde Park when you go.
Regarding transportation, please see your email inbox as I recently responded to your private email with information about those services. 🙂
Pura vida!

Thank you for your detailed response Nikki.
Yes I meant the Manuel Antonio National Park tour and will use the discount you offer.
We are now looking at the Don Juan coffee tour. Do you offer any discounts on that?
We will certainly look out for MASS discount offers.
Thanks,
