Hi, we are a party of eight. I would like to book the car and I’ll zip line sky tour through your website but it would not be 10 days prior. I’m also wondering about your cancellation policy or would we be able to change the date due to weather? Thank you

For the cancelation policy, we do not have a cancelation policy of our own. We know that life happens and changes are inevitable, so we don’t mind if you need to cancel or change your plans, and we don’t charge any fees or apply any penalties in the event of cancelations. With respect to our memberships, if you purchase a particular “Discount Level” (i.e., membership) in order to access our tour discounts and you later need to cancel your trip to Costa Rica, we’ll refund your entire Discount Level payment—no questions asked. If you purchase a particular Discount Level and you need to downgrade to a Lower Discount level because your travel plans changed and you don’t require as many tour discounts (or the tour operator doesn’t have availability for the tour discounts you want), we’ll refund the difference in price between the two Discount Levels. If you accidentally purchased the wrong Discount Level, we’ll refund that error too. To help put your mind at ease, you’ll only ever pay for the tour discounts you use, not a penny more.
With respect to your chosen Costa Rica day tours, we are required to enforce the cancelation policy/policies of the tour operator(s) you choose for your trip. For example, if you choose to participate in Sky Adventures’s Sky Trek Canopy Tour, Sky Adventures’s cancelation policy would apply to bookings for that tour. To date, Sky Adventures’s cancelation policy is that tours can be canceled without penalty up to 48 hours prior to the tour date for groups of 1-11 people, or else up to 7 days prior to the tour date for groups of 12 or more people.
In moving forward from here, simply comment below with the date that you’re considering experiencing the Sky Trek Canopy Tour and I’ll get back to you asap to let you know if we can provide the discount for it.

Thanks for your quick response. We are a party of eight. We have four adults, two teenagers, and two children under 12. We were looking at the tour on Tuesday June 29 or Wednesday June 30 at 9:00.

Sky Adventures’s payment policy is that they require tours to be prepaid no sooner than 3 days before the tour date. So, if you opt to go with the tour on June 30th and you submit the discount order through our website right away (within the next hour or two), we can put a rush on things to get it processed for you today in order to meet the deadline of midnight tonight.

For tour transportation to/from Tabacon, this hotel does fall within Sky Adventures’s normal pick-up/drop-off zone in La Fortuna. This being said, Sky Adventures is a tour operator that does not automatically include round-trip transportation to/from any hotels with any of their tours, so they will apply a transportation fee on top of the tour rate if you’d like to have them provide a hotel pick-up/drop-off service. (Some tour operators in Costa Rica automatically include round-trip transportation in their rates and others do not; our related blog post https://costaricatravelblog.com/costa-rica-tour-transportation-hotel-pick-ups-drop-offs/ offers more information about this if you’re interested in further reading.) Sky Adventures’s transportation fees vary by hotel, but since Tabacon falls within Sky Adventures’s normal transportation zone, their regular, flat-rate, round-trip transportation cost of $17 per person to/from La Fortuna hotels applies. (You’ll see this fee presented as the optional “Transportation Option” on tour listing pages on our website for Sky Adventures’s tours; when the option is selected, Sky Adventures’s round-trip transportation fee will be added to your order.)

Hey Nikki, thanks for the great info. Arrive at Tabacon Thermal resort July 12 for 3 nights and then off to Dreams at Las Mareas for 6 nights. We are a family of six including 4 teenage children. What zip line do you recommend? What other excursions would you recommend? Thanks for your help.

We like Sky Adventures’s Sky Trek Canopy Tour, mainly because it includes a complimentary aerial tram ride (called the Sky Tram) and uses a handlebar braking system (as opposed to a hand braking system). We also like Ecoglide’s Canopy Tour, but typically only suggest that tour for families with younger children who want a tamer ziplining experience. We have discounts for both tours.
As a side note, the only ziplining tour discount we will be able to provide to your family (given your travel dates) would be the discount for Sky Adventures’s Sky Trek Canopy Tour. Our discount for Ecoglide’s Canopy Tour absolutely requires discount requests to be sent in a minimum of 10 days prior to the tour date, and since you mentioned you’ll be arriving on July 12th for 3 nights, unfortunately, the 12th, 13th, and 14th all fall within the 10-day window of today’s date. Sky Adventures typically processes our requests quickly, so even though we’re within the 10-day window now, if you decide to go with this tour option and submit the order for the discount through our website before the day’s end, we can work to obtain that discount for you for use on either the 12th, 13th, or 14th according to your preference.
