Hello,
Could you possibly provide some help with trip planning please? Long story short, had to use up some flight vouchers and our adult family of four will be arriving on 18th September for ten days. We currently we have four nights booked at The Springs Resort & Spa at Arenal (where we will take advantage of hot springs), we then want to make our way down to Monteverde (but were a bit worried about just how rainy, cold and wet this could potentially be) and then Manuel Antonio. Keen to include beach, waterfalls, sky tram, easy treks, hanging bridges, zip line, forests et al. What might you suggest. How would you structure this. Happy to take an internal flight or two to save time, but want to see as much as possible on a route that makes sense. Thanking you in advance for your kind attention, any help you could provide would be most welcome. Happy to pay of course. Kind regards Yvette

Hi Yvette!
Thanks so much for reaching out! 🙂
Your plan to spend 10 days in Costa Rica and visit La Fortuna (Arenal), Monteverde, and Manuel Antonio (ideally in that order) is one of the most common Costa Rica trip itineraries we see. It’s certainly a possible vacation plan, and believe it or not, it’s also one of the easiest trips to coordinate.
I’ll start by sending you a link to a related blog post we wrote that should offer you some initial help:
Costa Rica Itinerary: 10 Days In Costa Rica; Sample Itineraries; How Many Places To Visit; How Many Activities To Do; And More! https://costaricatravelblog.com/costa-rica-itinerary-10-days-in-costa-rica/
In the blog post linked to above, pay special attention to the section titled “suggested itinerary / itineraries for a 10-day trip to costa rica”; it offers sample itineraries according to whether you a) wish to spend the first night nearby the airport, b) wish to spend the last night nearby the airport, c) wish to spend both the first night and the last night nearby the airport, or d) don’t wish to spend the first night or the last night nearby the airport. Since you mentioned you have 4 nights booked in the La Fortuna (Arenal) area, your itinerary for the first half of your trip may already be set. In this case, our sample itineraries can help you schedule your time at the other two destinations you plan to visit.
Once you’ve settled on whether itinerary a), b), c), or d) would work best for you, you can begin filling in your days with day tours. We can certainly help with this. Once you’ve browsed through our discount database (http://puravidaeh.ca/discount-database/), feel free to comment in our forum again to let us know which specific tours/activities/experiences you would like to experience. To do so, simply reply to our comment on this page (https://puravidaeh.ca/costa-rica-help/topic/advice-pls-re-imminant-trip-planning-arrive-in-costa-rica-on-18th-september/) and write either the name of the exact tours or the link/URL to the tours on our website that you are interested in. Once we know which specific day tours you wish to participate in, we can offer recommendations as to how to best schedule them across the various days you’ll have at each destination.
Note: Our system is only able to process orders for tour discounts up to 7 days prior to the requested tour date. This means that if you would like to access any of the discounts we offer for Costa Rica day tours starting September 18th, the latest we will be able to process your requests will be September 11th.
One quick note about transportation: unfortunately Monteverde does not have a domestic airport, so flying to/from that destination isn’t an option. There are several other ways to get around Costa Rica, however. For more information on this, you may be interested in our related blog posts:

Until soon! 🙂
